This story was beautiful. Chase and Cara both come from terrible backgrounds but have found ways to flourish in their adult lives.

Cara, being a college educated woman, is well known in the community and is respected as the primary school teacher. Chase is an sergeant on the Tenth Calvary and is a very well respected officer.

I loved their relationship. Cara was full of sass and knew what she wanted. Chase was funny and easy going. They complimented each other so well. It was a joy to read about their love story.

I also really enjoyed the history lesson you learn while reading this book. It was interesting to learn more about Kansas Fever, also known as the "Great Exodus". Even though it was heart breaking to read about at times, this story is full of hope, loyalty, friendship and love. It was absolutely fabulous.
