I really enjoyed this sequel to Six Of Crows! I loved reading how the characters developed from the first book and how they came back from the pretty catastrophic end previously. I think it’s good we got to experience low lows so the highs felt really rewarding! To conceptualise this extravagant and intricate plot is not easy and I give so much credit to Leigh for pulling this off; I couldn’t put it down in the final 150 pages I was gripped!
My gripe is only small. I struggled with the amount of pages, especially when the text is so small. I think I felt how long it was when I was in the middle of this book and feeling like it was dragging a bit, and then after I finished it I thought to myself of moments that didn’t really add to the story and could have been omitted to keep the pace swift.
Overall, I think this is an excellent YA fantasy, diverse multiple POV book that kept me on my toes with the plot and made me deeply care for the characters. I look forward to the eventual third book! (SPOILERS!!! PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS 🚨 )
JUSTICE FOR MATTHIAS AND NINA 😭 BUT YAYYYYY FOR JESPER AND WYLAN & YAY TO KAZ OPENING UP TO INEJ!!!)
(SPOILERS!!! PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS 🚨 )
