Rain of Shadows and Endings
by Melissa K. Roehrich
Rain of Shadows
I’m going to trust the process and read on to book to even though the characters on my last nerves. Theon is addictive, manipulative asshole and just annoyed with him, but completely understand that this is fiction and that there is a world being created. Luka is fascinating as a character, and I really more about his story. He’s legit the only character that I light him and Pen. Pen was a real one. She really love the voice you could tell. Even though we only got to see Pen just for a little bit, it worth it to know that these boys had someone to care for them like she did.
The mental health representation in the book is also reason why I think I was so annoyed, because in all honesty people that are dealing with trauma can sometimes be very annoying. I’m saying these things as someone that deals with trauma of my own. I do appreciate the representation of PTSD That is placed on here and I’m hoping that the people that have harmed the FMC their comeuppance.
Now onto Tessa. Tessa is annoying as fuck. She’s such a brat and I really wish she wasn’t written to be this annoying because I wanted to have empathy for her as a woman that has gone through so much. But I also understand that this is like a character development and I’m hopeful that she gets better with Time .
Axel is Theon’s brother, and he is very lovable but also very confusing. You can tell that he deals with a great deal of trauma as well so I hope that the books will share more of his point of view. I’m committed to reading the series through the end so we’ll see.
I already gave the book 4 stars because there were some errors in grammar and some of the plot got lost a little bit like something’s in one instance they were going to dinner we’re going to lunch, little little things like that made me give it to four stars along with how much the characters got on my fucking nerves. this is a new author for me and I look forward to reading more of her books.
