The Man with the Silver Saab by Alexander McCall Smith

4.0

An enjoyable read. Ulf Varg is a detective and head of the Sensitive Crimes Unit in Malmo, Sweden. He has been having difficulties - his dog was attacked by a squirrel and nearly had his nose bitten off, the dog bled all over the seat while being taken to the vet, he used his blue lights to get through a traffic jam to get to the vet, he is not sure how Anna (a co-worker) feels about him, and there is annoying detective on his staff who's always talking about vitamins and minerals, etc. Not to mention his brother, Bjorg, is head of the Moderate Extremist Party. His car is towed to forensics because he took it by a service to have the blood cleaned up and the manager suspects his killed someone and reports it to the police. But he begins to talk through these things with his neighbor, therapist and co-worker and comes to some surprising conclusions. Not to mention the case he is working on also having a few surprises. I think I'd like to read the rest,
