Bartered Innocence by B. Sobjakken
5.0

(I absolutely LOVED this book!

I honestly don't read enough mafia romance.)

ARC Review:

Okay, so we have two mafia families – the Italians and the Irish.

The Italian FMC, Isabelle is hell-bent on losing her virginity when she is told she's in the line up for a marriage that will help form an alliance w/ the Irish.

(they want the future bride to be pure, so if she's no longer a virgin she wouldn't have to go through w/ it)

Turns out the person she loses it to is part of the Irish mafia (& the man who picks her to get married)

After that it's a whole bunch of:

spicy scenes
betrayals
murder
death of a loved one
found family
fierce loyalty
pregnancy

Lemme tell ya the characters were likeable, the plot was entertaining!

Isabelle was feisty yet had a good heart. I absolutely LOVED that she wasn't a doormat for her husband, Rian. She spoke her mind and didn't give a shit. AND Rian accepted it. He treated her like the queen she is.

Rian was 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 He cared about his men, loved them like brothers. He had his moments, but you can tell he did the things he did to ensure his people were safe and taken care of. & The spicy scenes I mentioned? 🫠🫠 There were a lot, but there was one where he's bloodied from a kill & he wipes the blood on Isabelle as he f*cking her & I'm just like screaming! His dirty talk is also 🤤

The Irish brotherhood (Rian's men) were my fave side characters. My god 😂 They were like rowdy older brothers, but also knew when to get serious (& scary 👀). I loved how quick they accepted Isabelle as their own.

The action scenes were a bit short-lived, but still held heavy weight.

Would I buy a physical copy? Oh, for sure! <3
Would I recommend reading this? Definitely.
