Beautifully written and absolutely heartbreaking, Girl at War tells the story of ten year old Ana and her family during the Yugoslav Wars in the 1990s. It’s a coming of age story set against a backdrop of violence and conflict, told through the eyes of a child as she grows up. Overall, a really moving and readable novel.
