Most people know the gist of how this ones goes so I will spare the detail. I wondered while reading this if King was bullied in high school, his vision for retaliation is deadly. I like reading about cults and religious fanatics so the parts with Carrie's mother I enjoyed, and the building of Carrie's backstory. As my first King while I enjoyed his writing I wasn't blown away. Maybe its because I already knew the story, or maybe it was just his first book and he hadn't honed his craft yet. I did find it hard to put down though. I had been meaning to read it for years and I am glad that I finally did.
