Trigger warning for animal cruelty in this book. It was a quick read. I enjoyed the dual POV/timeline, I liked uncovering the real story in a sort of "real time". And although it seems clear who did it, the extra details were very well incorporated. I enjoyed the nature aspects and animal facts, although that made the fates of some animals more sad. I was frustrated with how convenient some aspects were. But I would read from this author again, she definitely made the suspense level raise consistently which made me both dread and anticipate the ending. I was wanting to run away and read at the same time.
