The characters are so easy to fall in love with, and I fell so hard. It was an amazing insight to another culture and by the end of the book, I rarely needed to translate the Spanish dialogue! You don't NEED to translate, everything has context but I enjoyed learning the language while I was reading. Thomas has a way with capturing words and as a trans gay guy myself, I felt so represented in a good light. It was so cool seeing so much of my own experience being written. It was especially nice to see Yadriel struggle with it in a daily context, but also not being the MAIN struggle of the protagonist you know? Very much would recommend.
