This Impossible Brightness
by Jessica Bryant Klagmann
Beautiful but heartbreaking at times.
This book wasn’t quite what I was expecting based on the description, but I like what it is more than what I thought it would be. There’s a lot of talk of the world we know crumbling away due to climate change. That was quite hard to read, but it is an essential part of the story as is the loss that Alma experiences that leads her to live near her aunt and two cousins in an extremely remote location. Alma’s story, and the stories she tells, are beautiful but heartbreaking at times.
