We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal

Did not finish book.
I was so bored... I tried to push through because so many of my online friends loved this book, but I was halfway through the book and nothing really interesting had happened yet.

Writing style: Nothing special, just words strung together go form a story. The world-building was really bad and the characters arcs even worse. You do not kill a character if his/her death doesn't have any real consequence to the story.

Characters: I'm not attached to anyone. I don't like anyone. No one has a clear personality. I was halfway through the book and I still didn't have any backstories on anyone and I kept forgetting everyone's names and what they're supposed to look like.

Story: Let's go on a quest to find an old book so we can bring back magic in the world... Sounds like a book I'd enjoy. I didn't. Anyone who says the journey is more important than the destination has never tried to push through a book where all they do is talk nonsense, move around and fight the occasional weird creature.

I can't believe how much time I put into this book. It is not the book for me and I had to DNF it.
