A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab
4.0
Spoiler
Wild that I went through three books without learning Kell's originI loved this trilogy so much as a whole, and the final book does not disappoint. Over all, I greatly enjoyed A Conjuring of Light. I loved seeing more of Holland and learning about his past, and watching Rhy grow up finally.
I do feel the need to say, however, that there were certain things that kept it from quite getting that fifth star.
Spoiler
Mainly, the fact the Ojka was killed so quickly. She'd been built up to be a pretty good villain, only to be removed from play before we really get to see her shine. Also there are a lot of bits with the King that felt like advertising for the prequel series. I also felt like all the bits with Ned and the Grey London king was building up to something, only to drop off at the end, but maybe we'll get more about that in the fourth book... And I said it half in jest, but I really am disappointed that I didn't get Kell's origin story. To be teased with it at the black market felt frustrating. All in all, though, great finale of the trilogy. Can't wait to see where the final loose threads leading into the fourth book take me.
