My first foray into PD James, and I was very pleasantly surprised! I really enjoyed these four stories, they were all pretty tightly set up, and usually with a nice closing twist or revelation.
I would say maybe the form of a short story is not actually ideal for these, as it was quite a challenge to set up intriguing characters as well as a motive, clues, and deductions, so my enjoyment was slightly hampered. But I think that's a limitation of the form more than anything else.
