The Blind Assassin is a complex and ambitious novel, told through layered narratives and a story within a story that gradually weaves together. Atwood’s prose is as elegant and thought-provoking as ever, and I admired the depth she brought to the characters and the way secrets unfolded over time. That said, while I appreciated the craft, this just wasn’t my favorite of her works. The pacing felt a bit uneven in places, and I didn’t find myself as deeply absorbed as I have been with some of her other novels. Still, it’s a beautifully constructed book that demonstrates Atwood’s mastery of storytelling—even if it didn’t resonate with me as strongly.
