I had a lot of fun with this one! I love heist-esque novels and while this was not exactly one, it was all I needed. There were a lot of fun antics and characters you can't help but enjoy being with. I most appreciated that it was somehow both comfortingly familiar fantasy while giving a breath of fresh air to things I've seen time and time again. It was just a rip-roaring good time and I'm excited to see where it goes! Also, I'm usually not a fan of overly voicy fantasy/main characters/narrators and this actually worked well for me. I was incredibly apprehensive at first because it gave me CAPTAIN BLUEBEAR vibes (which I slogged through earlier this year) but instead I got what I wished CB was.
