Fire & Rain by John F.D. Taff

5.0

The unsuspecting world we once knew is faced with a series of horrific natural disasters that devastate the place we once called home. Now, survivors wander the cataclysmic landscape looking for salvation but only find unimaginable terrors in the wake of what seems to be THE END AS WE KNOW IT.

I know I'm late to the party because all of the books are out but I still really like that this was a serial release. This first book is a great introduction for what is to come. Im just glad I don't have to wait to read the next installment in the world of The Fearing. Something else note worthy is the awe inspiring intro by Ray Garton. I'm not usually one to read forwards or additions like this BUT this one certainly made me change my tune. I went into this book really excited because it is so highly regarded in the #HorrorCommunity and I can see why. John Taff created a terrifying dystopian novel that is astonishingly atmospheric. The author has a way of igniting the reader's interest with vivid descriptions of the dreadful end times scenary his cast of characters face. When you read this series, be prepared to live each scene. Taff will plant you firmly into his bleak new world where your deepest, darkest fears come to life.

This series should be at the top of your tbr if you haven't read it already. John Taff knows horror. This is a writer that will transport you into a world in which there is no escape from things you fear most. I am so thankful I finally made time to start reading this series and I'm mad it took me so long to do so. Don't let this happen to you. Buy the book, buy the series, face your fears.

Also, keep on the lookout for the newest installment in the series, The Fearing: Blood and Brimstone.
