Shadowland
by Meg Cabot
Meg Cabot does an excellent job in the paranormal young adult genre. This series is entertaining, the characters are relatable, and it makes you want more! You will read to the end of each book with no concept of the time that has went by engulfed in the life of Suze and her sassy kick-ass attitude and in-your-face antics that don’t exactly scream comfort and compassion to the spirits she is helping move on. Her ability to see ghosts, sometimes unhappy ghosts, are what cause all sorts of trouble and problems for her and it is entertaining book after book to see how she deals with the new conflicts thrown her way.
In the first book of this series you meet Suze, She has just moved across the country to her new home where her mother’s new husband and her three new step brothers live. On the other side of the country she realizes her life is going to be much different from how she was previously living, except she still sees ghosts. Within the first chapter you meet Jesse the hot and sexy Spanish ghost haunting her bedroom. And as the plot unfolds, she meets a very unhappy ghost haunting the halls of her new school.
Fast, fun, easy read! I recommend.
