My Inner Sky: On Embracing Day, Night, and All the Times in Between by Mari Andrew

4.0

Though coming from a very particular type of life, that of a writer who still has the means to travel extensively, fully live in New York (including nice apartment, eating out frequently etc), which is to say a very particular type of privilege, Mari Andrews has still put together a book with kind reminders, reflective insights, and grace. I found this book pleasant to engage with in in-between moments, which is suiting to its theme, and appreciated musing over her experiences and revelations and integrating them into my own explorations. Far from enormously revelatory or genre shifting, this collection of essays nevertheless was enjoyable and interesting with a few key ideas I think I’ll chew on for a while.
