Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

5.0

This book had everything I love about sci-fi in it:

-well explained space travel/space science
-first contact
-dystopian outlook, last hope for humanity
-linguistic, yet not entirely vivid communication between species
-strong character arcs
-a CRAZY twist

I really enjoyed that the mission was juxtaposed with the MC’s memories slowly coming back to him about the preparation for Project Hail Mary. Learning with the MC how much was on the line for humanity and how they pulled it off made this a book that was incredibly hard to put down. I was OBSESSED with the first contact plot line, it made me laugh and cry. All in all, fantastic book, probably my fav out the three of his I’ve read (Artemis, The Martian and now this).
