I know this seems like a stretch, but stick with me as I try to play “If you liked X, you'll probably like Y” because my comparison is The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. If bold, improbable plot twists in historical fiction irritate you, you probably aren't going to love either book. But if you enjoy that sort of thing when it's done to perfection and reveals larger truths, this is an absolute joy.
