The Black Ice by Michael Connelly

4.0

Top notch thriller.

This is the perfect blend of police procedural, private investigator (since Bosch is just as much outside of the police department as he is in it), and mystery. The mystery is unraveled as Bosch discovers it, with a nice reveal at the end.

This builds well on The Black Echo. It has less exposition on Bosch's psychology, which is a plus in my book. More pared down, more showing-through-doing.

The supporting cast is a little thin, but Bosch and the plot more than make up for it.

Very enjoyable read, highly recommended.
