Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

5.0

"Some people, weak people, fear solitude. What they fail to understand is that there's something very liberating about it; once you realize that you don't need anyone, you can take care of yourself. That's the thing: it's best just to take care of yourself. You can't protect other people, however hard you try. You try, and you fail, and your world collapses around you, burns down to ashes."

Eleanor was a depressed 30 years-old woman who lived alone with her dying plant. Her only hobby was finishing crosswords in the newspapers. Her life was pretty boring and she basically had no friend. But that was all before she learned about her past, her childhood, and the tragedy that she refused to recall.

i really enjoyed reading this book (honestly, i just picked it up randomly) and i felt like i lived in Eleanor's world. that's how strongly, well-written this piece is. also, kudos to Gail Honeyman for the beautiful bombastic words she used here and there. i just loved them all! i wish you all who read this rambling of mine would read this book too haha

p/s: pls read this book, guys
