Lila
by Marilynne Robinson
When ever read Marilynne Robinson I feel like I am one with nature, sitting in a forest next to a crystal clear lake meditating. Which would be an unusual spot for me unless it was next to a train line there was no bugs and I was able to meditate by playing Candy Crush. Though Robinson has this was of completely blocking out world around you. She just has simple earthy writing, like Lila who likes to leave dirt on her fingers you want to linger of sentences as long as possible. I love the way Robinson writes the outcaste, with the community verses drifter it would too easy to caste one better than they other, but every character is written with a delicate understanding, but she doesn't go out of her way to explain or resolved. Just good, so so very good.
