Fat Cat by Rachel Vincent
5.0
Stray by Rachel Vincent got me into urban fantasy back when I was aging out of YA angst.
Fat Cat brought me right back into the world I loved so much, while giving me a fresh new set of characters to fall for.
Where the first series has strong Yellowstone vibes, this one adds a little bit of a shifter-only True Blood feel. Solving a murder case while getting to know the locals at the town bar.
Rachel nailed the sister relationship dynamic and the bromance trope. I am here for all the relationship drama I know will unfold in the next book. It’s UF not PNR so the spice is hot but an accent, not the whole flavor of the book.
I feel like you could read this without having read the shifters series, but it would spoil some major plot points for you.
Please write more Rachel!
