I didn’t really have expectations for this book as military sci-fi is really quite far from what I usually reach for. However, I was pleasantly surprised.
I thought it was a really interesting concept - someone who died and had been remembered through history as a martyr, coming back 100 years later unconvinced they’re deserving of that status.
It was interesting that Geary remembered enough to be of help, whilst there were still new technological advancements - it meant there were things not too unknown for him to teach whilst they weren’t so common others would expect them.
There were some good characters, some of whom I was constantly second-guessing.
I knew I was enjoying this because I wanted to pick it up. It’s very easy to passively listen to an audiobook, but I did want to find out what was about to happen so I read it in three days.
