I Who Have Never Known Men
by Jacqueline Harpman
mysterious
reflective
i get it now, you guys.
not sure if this is considered a spoiler but it’s been a time since i studied plato’s cave and to have it encapsulated in this book was a chefs kiss moment. i think this is the first book i’ve ever read with this allegory (might be wrong though)
this was so new and beautiful yet haunting. i let this marinate with me first because i wanted to know the meaning of it all and how events lead to now; but i’ve come to accept that we will never know (as if i were the narrator with men)
