The School for Good Mothers by Jessamine Chan

4.0

One of the most intense books I've read. I've been contemplating reading this all year, but as a new mom, I wasn't ready until now.

This book captures how impossible it can feel to be a good mother. The intrusive thoughts, the constant pressures from yourself and society, the way there will always be more to do for your child. At times the plot lagged and the conclusion felt like an easy way out, but overall, well worth reading, especially if like me you prefer your dystopian fiction to be rooted in complex characters.
