Okay. So. When I saw how highly rated this book was, I scoffed. I read Shadow and Bone, as well as Siege and Storm, and was severely disappointed by their mediocrity. Absolutely no way did I think I'd enjoy this.
But I did! Normally YA (especially romance in YA) makes me roll my eyes but I genuinely found myself breathless from the chemistry of the characters. And I really was rooting for them too! And the twists and turns! Some of them really had me shook. I'm happy that I ended off the year with such a fun read, and I'm excited to finish the duology.
