Always down for an excuse to read a hockey romance so why not in honor of the hockey preseason? This wasn’t as laugh out loud funny as the Carolina Comets series (but I have a feeling book 2 will be!) but I still enjoyed the book. I liked Hutch and Auden. The forbidden aspect didn’t quite deliver what it intended, it just didn’t feel like the stakes were high for either of them. I think if that was more solidified it would’ve added more tension which the book could’ve benefitted from. I was bummed that this team didn’t have a tight bond, the found family is always a great dimension of a sports romance. Despite all of this, the book was fun, light, and quick read. I’d still recommend it to the hockey girlies.
