It was due time for me to say hello to these characters again, with Maxwell Crenshaw and Lady Helena as the main couple of this Gilded Age Historical Romance. It was a really good book with great character development, female empowerment and choice, and a “fake engagement” story line.
One suggestion would be to list somewhere a trigger/sensitivity warning: this book grappled with the topic of infertility and the guilt and diminished self concept that results from that.
