Favourite Quote: “I found love because it was always out there, waiting for me, even when I questioned its existence. In fact, I found it right next door—where it had always been.“
Tropes: sports romance, first love, childhood friends, miscommunication, girl next door
Ok this book is the last in the series and everyoneeeeee and I mean everyone will have an opinion and mine was that it didn’t give me everything I expected. Butttttt I did enjoy it!
I loved their chemistry and it was a second chance romance, the whole reading their past and present was adorable and interesting for sure. But for me there wasn’t a pull to the story. We have all fallen in love with Rio and I just was excited for more of his character coming through? But it didn’t
I thought it was a really sweet easy read with a guaranteed HEA, the way they became next door neighbours again was so adorable and I liked wren - I knowwww her and her brothers stories will be interesting, it talks about them being big in sports but they have land is it cowboy or sports romance..????
I found the tapes cute and the tattoo! His jersey number I did figure out but it was nice to confirm it near the end and hear everyone else’s stories.
I enjoyed seeing all the characters again and how far they have come it was so wholesome how they all made this found family trope though out the series so effortlessly.
I feel as the main characters they were very closed off and in their own bubble? No one needed to know their story or their reasons for things because ‘it was theirs and none else’s’ and no one would get it etc, for the group of friends they had they just didn’t seem to fully through themselves in like the others.
I really enjoyed the interior design aspect and wish I saw more of it, I am a sucker for a move around and redesign so I was excited! Wrens house sounds amazing!!!
I didn’t mind that they loved each other years ago but then there was no fight to get back to each other or win each other over it was a one and done really and then just a story of them hanging out now and showing us how they hung out before. I would have liked a chase or even a boom box moment of declaration just something to speed the tempo and get it going for me.
The mystery was different you went along wondering what happened and it was sooo interesting and not at all what I saw coming! 2 twists?! - His dad her mum no vibe from me ewwww evil but I was curious when he said he was going to a game.. is he still with her what would have happened might have been a good bit of tension..!
Hallie her dad was adorable. Wasn’t a massiveeee fan of her brother Luke maybe we needed more on their story I just kinda thought he was selfish but his wife Sarah redeemed him for sure. His mum I am torn.. love she is now happy but .. really? Was she right I don’t know..?
If I was to describe this book it would be a massive miscommunication trope with childhood friends / lovers - the fact they just cut all contact and didn’t chase each other too..? I don’t knowwwww…
The book cover on this story fit the others sooooo well, I will say the red and black though… it gave a broody angst vibe that didn’t really fit Rio orrrr Hallie if I had to pick a colour for them that’s not already been done maybe green..? Yellow? - like her walls!! Apparently Right move is pink..? I don’t see it but I do think red was not the perfect choice for me it gives a different vibe to the characters created for this book..
