This is a gothic horror retelling of The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe. I’ve been a huge fan of Edgar Allan Poe since school. I admire his writing style because it’s every eccentric and I have a fun time reading his stories.
I was very excited once I learned that this book was a retelling of The Fall of the House of Usher. However, I honestly enjoyed Edgar Allen Poe’s story over this one. What Moves the Dead didn’t add anything to this story by making it more creepier, dark, scary, etc.
I decided to listen to the audiobook because I was at work and needed something to listen to. I believe that the narrator didn’t do the book justice. I wish I read the book physically. Maybe I would’ve enjoyed the story better.
