Can this be read as a stand-alone: This is a standalone.
Re-Readability: Yes.
Content/Trigger Warnings/Enticements: Significant. I will avoid spoilers as best I can.
SpoilerI will say that I skipped the underage parts and I don't feel like I lost anything because Traci's feels are referenced later in the book. I will add trigger warnings for drug use, overdose, death of a main character (not Lazarus or Tracy) and child abuse (mentioned). I will also say that if you don't like multi-partner content, or m/m content this is not a book for you.

I struggled with how to review this book and to keep with the Author's request on spoilers. So, I spoiled myself for it, because spoilers for books don't keep me from reading books, especially if I'm already enjoying them. I want to know more, especially if it's something that might hit me wrong. If you are the same, then read the spoilers. If you have triggers, read the trigger warnings in reviews.

Reviews are ultimately here for other readers, not the author.

This is a taboo romance that is not going to be for everyone, however, the story is beautifully written. I've been in Traci's position before with having a crush on an older man, and though my story turned out differently, I enjoyed the hell out of this one. I even enjoyed Lazarus' backstory and I felt so much for these characters as they tired to navigate life and family that I felt a little gutted when the book ended.

I loved this book for its intensity, and how from the heartbreak, to the desire, to the love, to the compassion, to the heartbreak, to the guilt, I was with the characters 100% of the way.

I don't think I could handle if every book I read was like this, but this was a gem, and I'm glad I read it.
