Genghis: Birth of an Empire by Conn Iggulden

5.0

It is hard to see the heart of a boy in the creased face of a brutal man known to rule the world. The journey and hardships of a boy on the plains of Mongolia erase any of the preconceived notions of Genghis Khan one can hold. Conn Iggulden is a master of details and paints the most elaborate scenes of the 12th century, transporting readers onto galloping horses along-side Yesugei's boys. This book is unquestionably one of the most fascinating, violent, and historically accurate works of fiction of today's day, and the best part is that there are four more brilliant books to continue the journey.
