That Forever Girl by Meghan Quinn

emotional lighthearted tense medium-paced
  • Loveable characters? It's complicated
  • Diverse cast of characters? No

3.0

This felt long. I liked that we got the whole story - flashbacks to their middle school friendship, the transition to more than friends, getting serious, going to college together, and what broke them up. But it’s part second chance and part enemies to lovers. So there’s tension when they see each other for the first time after the split, and once they’re finally over that you get the tension in the flashbacks of how they split up in the past. It’s a lot of tension/angst/unhappiness, and I kept wondering when the HEA would get moving. So when they finally started to get back together I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop.

TW/CW: Rogan’s football career ending injury is
that he falls onto a fire pit, chaos ensues, all on page. Off page, he ends up getting part of one leg amputated.
