Desperately Seeking Roommate by Micalea Smeltzer

2.0

This wasn’t bad. Well, maybe it was.

Unfortunately for this book, I read it right after The Roommate by Rosie Danan, and it showed me all the reasons I liked The Roommate more.

1. Clara and Josh had real motivations behind the decision to live with a stranger, Lou and Abel did as well but it was much less thought out and rarely mentioned.
2. Both books had the characters in such weird situations that somehow forced them together, but the ones in this book were not practical AT ALL. You will not dry hump someone in a grocery store, don’t care if it’s a romance book or movie or whatever that absolutely will not happen.
3. Lou is the epitome of a “hehe xD im so silly >_<“ girl and I hated it. It is not 2014, this book was not published in 2014, we need to allow characters to grow up.

Examples of the absolute worst things said by Lou:

1. “Haters gonna hate, potatoes gonna potate, I just want to eat mashed potaters.”
2. “She sounds like me when I want snacks. Do you know that little kid snacks GIF? I feel it on a spiritual level.”
3. “I stand in the entry holding the box of donuts like the awkward unicorn I am.”
4. “What are werds?”

I rest my case. Lowkey considering being done with KU lol
