Maus II: A Survivor's Tale: And Here My Troubles Began by Art Spiegelman

4.75

Compared to part 1, this was more action-packed, more harrowing, and narratively conclusive.
The complicated relationship between everyone in the Spiegelman proximity is ordinary, but shows us the throughline between how the holocaust affected Vladek and how he interacts with the world. It was fitting to have the narrative end
with the parallel ending of Vladek's life.

I'm left thinking of Anja, although we don't get a lot of her story, she's obviously a large part of Vladek's life (and Art's psyche). Through her struggle, we get a glimpse of what the persistent cost of tragedy is, on both the dead and the living.
