I LOVED it!! Its accessible writing style made it a pleasant and easy read. Nathalie puts the incredible women from Greek myths in the context and explore why they might be perceived as good/bad. There are references to both ancient and modern reception, which added depth and intrigue to the narrative. As someone from Japan, I was shocked to learn I had missed Ninagawa's rendition of Medea. I must get the DVD. Its inclusion of lesser-known anecdotes, like the amusing tale of Achilles' fatal punch, added an unexpected layer of humour. It certainly proved enlightening, filling gaps in my knowledge and leaving me eager to further explore myth retellings in the future.
