I was screaming out the number and strings of curse words by halfway through.

Overall, I like the writing in this series but please please please pick a different blue thing. I'm begging you. Anything. He could have blue raspberry snow cone syrup eyes, or heavy vehicle tie-down strap eyes, or even just pick a specific body of water. Seas are nice too. Maybe Tenerife? Eyes like the shipping lane of Oslo harbour? Maybe she stared into his inflatable outdoor spa orbs? She might even have lost herself in his tall glasses of complimentary tap water. Anything.

I jest, but it being so repetitive really truly yanks you out of the moment.

Oceans of eyeballs aside, it is a very thoughtful and well written sports romance. It manages to dance on that line of social commentary and growth without the clunky 'romance trying too hard to be relevant' vibes. This does a great job at human interaction and not dramatically blowing things up for no good reason. People talk to each other. People get space. People mess up. People do people stuff, even when that people stuff is messy and maybe not the best idea.

Its worth a read, as is the first in the series, just be ready to be drowned in oceans of eyes.
