Oh wow. Amazing OTT hockey rom-com. Please, read the author's note.

So I admit that this book has lots of tropes I normally do not read – it is the ex-boyfriend drama, “failed” one-night stand, and sports romance.

But I trusted S. Legend to wow me, and she did. So as I said, I normally don’t like OM drama involving one’s ex. And I knew it is one of the main storylines of the book. But I did not really feel like it was that big of a deal. And once I realized that this story is not about some dumb love triangle but about dealing with unhealthy relationship? Yep. Mrs Mock persuaded me that the book is worth it.

And I loved the swoony guys, their worries, their heartbreaking moments (though I was a bit mad at the end of the book, hehe), because all moments just made sense. And all moments had an important role for the characters or the story. Yes, the book is long but did I mind it? Nope.
The action bits with hockey were tense and well written and I know I’ll definitely read more from the series because the characters are just so magnetic – even if they are snarky and seemingly unlikeable.

The spice was off the charts, with some spanking and rules. Lovely. The guys could not get enough of each other.

The found family delivered, as is usual for S. Legend. There was some hurt/comfort and my heart broke for Mercy. Quite a lot of times actually.

The book is OTT but I actually loved some of the craziness and light-hearted moments. If you are not into OTT friends who are overly affectionate, some shenanigans with a huge family, and characters with huge egos, stray away from the book. And please, read the author’s note.
