The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes
by Arthur Conan Doyle
Two of the stories from this set were unusual in that they didn’t feature Doctor Watson. Naturally some were more enjoyable to me than others. I think the ones I liked most were The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire, The Problem of Thor Bridge and The Adventure of the Lion's Mane (one of the stories in which Watson doesn’t make an appearance). In one of the investigations, The Adventure of the Three Gables, one character is described using racial stereotypes which are definitely of their time, but fortunately that’s the first and only in this collection. This completes my reading of the 4 stores and 56 short stories in the Holmes’ canon.
