Second chance wouldn’t be my first descriptor though there is a close, wholesome slow-burn connection btwn Evie & Drew. The depiction of how complex abusive relationships can be and the effects it has on other connections was realistically done; it’s a rather emotional experience. The extra twists just added more to the chaos of the plot. Id question (and be disheartened) if someone came out of this read without more compassion and understanding for those who’ve been thru a toxic/abusive relationship, regardless having been in one or not.
