Funny You Should Ask by Elissa Sussman

2.0

This is a very weird read. I hated it.
The overall story that’s based on the article was unethical but fine it’s just a story not all stories should be ethical and perfect. I like imperfect characters and stories they make a great journey only when executed well.
The “great writer” writes shitty articles honestly and they constantly overhype her writing, when you finally whatever she wrote, it’s utter nonsense and felt a little juvenile.

I hated how they spoke to each other in that distorted sentences and words. For example:
“I…. You…. Yes….. you know” no I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. It’s used too much that a chunk of the plot is messing. And then they talk about it in later chapters and you’re supposed to figure it out without having so much as a hint of it. How I my supposed to know the hidden story ?? Put it in words, in sentences don’t just define whatever happened in later chapters as if I was a part of the scene.

The interviews and articles are absolutely POINTLESS. I read the first two articles but then I skipped all of the once I knew that they don’t lead to anything really. Like all these actions and people mentioned in the articles and interviews are never important or advancing the plot in any way.
