If you’ve read his other books, you know they’re dark. This is no exception. It’s positioned at YA, but COMPOUND FRACTURE is filled with graphic violence and transphobia. The plot moves quickly, but I found myself needing to step away from the book at times to take a breather. It leans preachy at times (which is not unusual for YA), but it’s masterfully constructed. Just be prepared for a wrought read.
Graphic: Bullying, Deadnaming, Transphobia, Violence, Blood, Police brutality, Outing
Moderate: Vomit, Car accident
