A Reaper at the Gates
by Sabaa Tahir
I’m going to post this review on all four books because it will be a spoiler free review of the entire quartet.
WOW. My one regret in life is not reading these sooner. Sabaa Tahir is a brilliant author who captures the entire range of human emotions with such beautiful skill I was in awe at every turn. This story has it all, war, epic travels, love, loss, political intrigue, found family, unique magic systems, you name it, this series has it.
The world building is so vivid and rich, I never wanted to leave. Tahir writes in parallels to our world that I think everyone should read and absorb. I’m so incredibly grateful for the existence of the Heir duology for allowing us to return to this world one more time.
This is a series I truly believe every fantasy lover should read because honestly, I haven’t had a day go by where I haven’t thought of Ember since picking it up.
