In Too Deep by Skye Jordan

5.0

“Kissing her now after all this time only confirms what I already knew—she ruined me for other women. I gave my heart away as a teenager and never got it back.”

Thank you so much to @skyejordanauthor for providing a copy of this book for an honest review.

In too deep is the first book in the Wildfire Lake series by @skyejordanauthor. Each book of the series can be read as a stand-alone. The book is about two childhood lovers, Laiyla and Levi, that due to circumstances haven’t seen each other for 12 years. However, Laiyla goes back to Wildfire Lake and bumps into Levi. They both share an interest in the marina but they will have to settle their differences to be able to work together.

Their love for one another is undeniable but both have their own issues to go through before they can commit to one another. Laiyla is worried about disappointing her parents and isn’t sure if she is ready to let go of her city life. Levi, on the other hand, is worried that if he opens his heart to the girl he fell in love with 12 years ago he’s going to end up heartbroken and destroyed all over again.

It was such a sweet yet steamy book that was filled with humor and sass. The book was filled with a ton of tension, love, resentment, guilt and is ultimately one of the best childhood lovers and second chance lovers novel I have ever read.
