This took me a while to get through but I really did love it. The writing is SO good, although I did think it could be a bit wordy (we don’t always need 5 metaphors per paragraph). I honestly didn’t know what was going to happen, and Ruth did keep me on my toes. She had such an icey demeanor, which is common with many women in this field and I think that it was well depicted. There aren’t a lot of books that humanize sex work in a way that isn’t scary. Finally a story where it really is just a normal girl, figuring out the complexities of being in your 20s. I was looking for books that reminded me of Anora and this one was recommended. Overall, I thought it was an authentic portrayal of the industry and just the average 20 something experience in general.
