Incredible book. I was not aware of the oil sands in Canada before I heard about this book. Ducks opened my eyes to a world that I was only vaguely aware of. Beaton’s pages evoke empathy, emotion, and information. Her recognition of First Nations was essential to providing context to the cut off world of the camps. Ducks is an absolute must read.
