A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

This might be my favorite in the series so far. So much happens. There is a lot of excitement, thrills, questions, answers, gore, war, relationships, back history; just so much. Whew! I am pretty sure every character introduced in the series so far has a part in this story.

I have to say it: I am totally over the detailed (and sometimes strange) sex scenes. I definitely just skimmed them this time around to make sure I wasn't missing any important context. It's getting repetitive and eye roll inducing for me. I know I'm probably in the minority with this opinion. That's really my only negative.

The way things unfolded, and the surprises towards the end, had me exclaiming out loud a few times.

I look forward to seeing what takes place in book 4.

There are a lot of heart wrenching moments in all of the books so far, but things keep wrapping up "nicely" (for lack of a better way to put that) for the main characters. Usually, that irks me. BUT the way things are played out and built up and resolved is really keeping me enthralled and not bothering me much in this series. I mean, it is fantasy after all.
