Secrets of the Catalogue by Amelia Spencer

5.0

I received an ARC for my honest opinion.

“You were gone when I woke up,” Emerson stated the obvious, but Adrien caught the distress written on her face. “I’ll always come back for you, Emerson,”

Emerson Blackwell was barely hanging onto her life. With the rejection from her ex-boyfriend Silas and her father no longer sound of mind after her mother’s death. Emerson just wants to survive and forget the trauma from her past. But she soon discovers that fate has an entirely different plan for her. Discovering a hidden Library with books that are anything but ordinary. She quickly realizes that she can physically enter these books and soon after that learns the mother, thought to be dead, is very much alive. Silas then returns to try to rekindle their past relationship while she navigates her current relationship with Adrien. Her world is turning upside down and all she wants is answers. She doesn’t know what to believe anymore as she uncovers the truth and even more lies. It is up to her to figure out the secrets that lie within the pages.

I was completely enthralled by this book. This reminded me of The Page master, Fantastic Beasts, and Alice in wonderland all wrapped into a novel. So far, I am completely team Adrien in the relationship department. I will say there were parts that I gasped! Other parts where I yelled, and some I was at a loss for words. I can’t wait for the next books in this series!!!!
